2. Do we camp on any of your trips?
| |
NO CAMPING! You will avoid daily pitching and striking of tents, packing gear made wet from rain or dew, sleeping on rocky or hard ground, outdoor toilets at night, and mosquitos. You will have a comfortable bed, tub or shower, food brought to your table, no bugs at night, and all room reservations made in advance for you. |
4. How much will the food and lodging cost?
| |
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, for the days on which we are scheduled to bike, are included in the cost of the trip. On our off days only the breakfast is included in the trip cost. All lodging from start to finish is included in the trip price. |
5. Do we stay in the cheaper motels or motel chains?
| |
We stay in the best lodging available. Whenever possible we stay in resorts, lodges, Bed & Breakfasts or hotels listed on the National Historical Register. Occasionally the only lodging available for that night's stopover is a chain motel or a cheaper, but clean, motel room. When we were assembling these trips we sometimes had to change the route to allow us to stay in cleaner or more desirable facilities. |
6. Must we select meals from a limited menu or buffet?
| |
We are very proud of both the food and lodging provided on our trips. You may select all breakfast and dinner meals from the standard menu at restaurants. We will prepare a nutritious picnic lunch at a scenic location along the day's route, or stop at a small café strategically located along the route, at lunch time. |
7. Do we have to keep up with the guide and the rest of the group?
| |
We want you to enjoy your trip. This means setting your own pace. A detailed, easy to follow set of instructions are issued to every rider at the beginning of each day's trip. By issuing instructions to each rider, you will not need a guide riding at your side. The guide rides sweep behind all riders. If the rider desires, he or she may use the whole day and take pictures, enjoy the scenery, or lie down under the nearest shade tree and relax for a spell. In case you took too many pictures or too long of a nap. we will pick you and your bike up to get you to the lodge in time for dinner!

8. Are any of the roads on our trip dirt or gravel?
| |
Almost all of our trips are on paved roads. The only exceptions are trip 18 which has 12 miles of packed sand and gravel, and trip 22 which has 14 miles of packed sand and gravel. You may shuttle over the non-paved parts of these two trips, in the sag van, if you desire. |
17. Do you allow children to bike on the trip?
| |
On some of our trips we encourage parents to allow their children to accompany them. We have special family rates if two adults share a room with their children (over 10 years old). Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. |
 19. When is payment due for the trip?
| |
The deposit is due when you submit your trip reservation. The deposit consists of $400 per person plus full cost of bike rental, if applicable, and full cost of shuttle to and from airport, if applicable. All remaining costs are due, in our office, 45 days prior to starting date of your trip. |
